Looking to give this old game ago again to see if I can rekindle some of the old love again. I can't decide whether to carry on with an old character (I have a champion, minstrel, hunter, burglar all around level 65-75), or start a new character again and re learn a class from scratch. One thing I have noticed that all my classes have alot less skills nowdays?

Can someone who still plays (preferably end game) give a quick run down of the classes that are still useful in raids/groups?

To help I won't play a LM, Warden, Captain and I will only play my minstrel as a damage dealer. I guess the hunters are still not used much? Have champs become more popular yet?

To be honest I forgot the most important questions.

Does anyone still play the game?

Is Evernight derelict yet?

I know a lot of my old clan members and friends either left the game or went to Snowbourn

There are still people on Evernight, and there are a fair few gnomes around most days - I'm still waiting for someone to organise a guild raid or something, getting tired of asking

There is not much end game at the moment, "Big Battles" were a bit of a let down and I've never seen anyone asking in glff for a group, and there are no new raids, so people just seem to run skirms at the moment.

There were some big changes to classes with trait trees being introduced, I don't think it's necessary to start from the very beginning though, lvl cap is 95, so you'll have 20-30 levels to get used to the new system - as for which class, well my mains are LM, Cap and RK, I don't have much input for the others

There are 95 levels now to get to cap, so plenty for one of your current toons to do. Hunters are a very popular class atm, with insane dps and some cool new skills that came with trait trees of Helms Deep (hunter is my main). Minstrels were top top of the dps chain for a little while after U12, but are a little less God-like since the class wide nerfing of U13.1 (they put some difficulty back into the game). Burg is very strong at the moment. There are many changes, eg, ettenmoors is available at any level now to VIP's or to non VIP's for a small mithril fee, and you get scaled to cap on arrival at GV.
Gnomes still have players on regularly, although we don't often get enough level cap players to form raids at the moment. Most raiding is done though global channel pug runs, and they are usually12 man skirms or scaled up raid instances, as that is where turbine have placed all the loot for now.

Warden is uber, but you don't wanna hear that

I would go with Hunter, (as long as it's a Hobbit haha) or Champ

Oh, and Fate has now become a really important stat, whereas before it was pretty much redundant.

Well I would go with the characters you have ... I got back into the game a while ago from 65 or so too and at first I felt a little helpless but soon learned to use my char again.
Just hit 95 and still so many things to do, but not much time at the moment (which shortens with Wildstar coming up). But I'll definitely will be playing once in a while to keep going and especially see the end of it ... it's estimated to be rather sooner then later since turbines current scheduled looks like they "speed" things up to maybe shut down in 2016 or so ... and I definitely want to see Minas Tirith since I like what they did in the limitations of the engine and the old game with helms deep (just my opinion).
