For anyone interested in what they previewed at CitizenCon, the vids are below (scroll down).

It has impressed me!

Star Citizen 2.0 coming soon and it will be the first step into the full universe with multiple missions, FPS and over 30 destinations to travel to in the first release. Looks awesome and the game seems to be getting there!

The cast for squadron 42 is way better than I had hoped too! A few are...
Gary Oldman
Mark Hamill
Gillian Anderson
John Rhys Davies
Mark Strong
Andy Serkis

Also they have done a really good job on the star map. Check it out here...
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/starmap

Vids... (there are more on youtube but these are the best )

Full live stream if you are a geek like me Also Sandi's speech is really nice - she has had to put up with some right shit from nasty people whilst building this game. They're a good bunch building this game!

I honestly would just be confused by all that I can barely operate a normal keyboard and mouse.

Yeah Gaz - looks good eh! I love the modular idea so it suits the mix of play styles. I wanna see what the OLED screen looks like on the top end one too

Love the trackballs (its actually something I specifically suggested when they were doing the poll for what sort of hotas would you like). But I think I'll get a steam controller and see how that flies. I found out that using a joystick in a space game is a little awkward, its a lot diffrent from flying with wings in atmosphere. But mouse isn't quite the thing either, so I think the steam controller is going to be the midpoint between those. Well I'll let you know how it flies when I get it.

Yeah got hyped for the "Baby PU" with patch 2.0 and it felt like Chris was trying to say that is will probably be out for X-Mas but could not because any dates on releases the got shoved up their asses in the past.

Definitely looking forward that we can roll out in our conies and talies together. I was most impressed by the fact that with the 2.0 alpha they already will have 38 quests in and merged the Star marine part into it.

Can't wait for SQ42 next summer hopefully. They now even call it preorder so it is not pledges any more and they can do some profit of it.

We have to revive that Thursday flight training session then

Iv been waiting to jump on board and now seems to be a good time with them opening up access to all pledgers (thats what i gather anyway). Can someone point me in the right direction of what i should be buying? I just want the basic starter package I guess but iv always got confused when iv been on their store page before. cheers

Just go here:
https://robertsspaceindus ... pledge/game-packages

Any of the cheapest packages will do. I don't see any difference between the first and the third one, but the second one will get you a different starter ship (Mustang) but from what I hear the Aurora is the better choice (the first and third package) especially if you were to upgrade that to the Aurora LN. The site will probably direct you from there to create an account and pay for that package. (btw. package means you have a ship and the actual game license, whereas you can then buy ships individually but they will be added to your game license, don't worry about that). All of those three packages include a license for the Squadron 42 which is the singleplayer game and access to alpha (as in play right now).

Edit: Apparently you can get the LN version for the same price so I'd recommend that:
https://robertsspaceindus ... e/Packages/Aurora-LN

Edit no2: Maybe the Aurora LN package doesn't include access to alpha? I'm confused myself now. Hold on until someone else confirms.

Did you catch my edits or not? I mean it wouldn't result in a particularly bad choice, just curious.

Id not but I havnt bought anything yet. It is confusing that's why I asked. I presume it does include Alpha as I thought the announcement they made was that all packages now get Alpha.

I think it should be safe to assume that even the LN package includes early access. I mean everyone gets early access, right? I haven't heard of anyone without it.

Not really

compare these 2

https://robertsspaceindustries ... e/Packages/Aurora-LN

https://robertsspaceindustries ... Aurora-MR-AC-Starter

The second one includes arena commander, the first one not.

The second one has the explicit note
QuoteIncludes everything you need to play Arena Commander today.
